Why he had gotten back into the car was even a mystery to himself, but he had. Not but thirty seconds more and they had pulled in front of their destination. The vehicle ceased, the driver emerged and with him, Thunder. It appeared he had gone through the trouble of hauling himself through Grey's side, though difficult was something it was not in actuality. A simple few strides would lead him across the front seats and onto the ground. What illness plagued him prior seemed to have lifted swiftly enough, though ever-still did that moody expression appear fixated upon his face. A glance about ensued, followed by him moving off in another direction. He said nothing as he did so.

Mall of the DEAD Yukiban-1

Yukimura gets out of the vehicle, hiking out of its interior when her companions got out. Once again she stumbles, sways, and plants her hand onto the truck's scarlet slope like a suction cup. Her face was pale as a ghost indicating that she didn't feel so well; she goes wordless.

Those fickle arms would peel herself off of the truck. Her attention slices to Thunder and notes that he was walking in an opposing direction; to her he looked up close and having been inattentive to this her brow twitches and her stare becomes confused.

“Thunder is walking backwards, deer look like beavers, what the hell...” Her lips lace into a frown. Her palm sticks to her face like superglue as she wearily continues onwards towards the mall.

Her cold hands continue to horizontally grip onto her new wakazashi. The blade is rusted but could cut even the toughest athlete’s flesh with relative ease. The blade is stout and could not accommodate the size of her bokken. She seems to be peculiarly playing with the blade with a mellow expression contrary to the dangers of infection and injury.

“Shit.” Her eyes do not seem to waver from their usual squint but somehow she was coherently watching blood run down her finger. Yukimura began to bleed when she glided her finger across the bladed district of the armament. It was a minor cut and could easily be treated by wrapping or a bandage, but was prone to infection.

“My finger, I've been maimed. I think I cut it off...” Her lips play into her wince though still were in a contorted grin. She would only perceive this cut as a complete loss of a limb.

Grey would hear Yukimura talking and then exclaim that she had somehow cut off her own finger causing him to turn and walk over for a closer look. "No your not missing a finger, you only cut yourself, your bleeding. Damn your really High. There should be a first aid kit somewhere inside, with that blade we will need to clean out that cut. Anyway apply a little pressure to the cut so it stops bleeding faster and hopefully the pain will clear your head a little." he would say.

Her nigh closed eyes continue to watch her finger like guard dogs. Only had it been when Grey walked over to her and talked had she retreated from her inattentive state. She her heed lumbers heavily upon him, slashing back and forth between him and her wounded finger.

He looked a little far away but the pain did alleviate her 'elevated' state. She is wordless; the only response that he warrants is her usual wide smile. Momentarily she gawks rearwards to localize the position of both Lina and Kiru had they decided to keep in proximity.

She puts the blade into the same strap holstering her bokken. The comment about her 'hopefully' being taken out of that state with a little bit of pain did seem to plaster her face with a weird expression, implications that the pain was a good thing. Her fingers clench onto her other finger with the firmness of a crab's pincer.

“Open the door, ass.” She at last replies as they come across the mall's door.

Lina 'LT' Thompson
Letting herself be the last person out of the car, Lina stay next to it, keep her back to the others while scanning their tracks. Not finding anything to be considered a danger, she would grab her stuff from the back and haul it all over her shoulder before she would slowly walk backwards to the others. By now they should have had the doors open and be inside. Her hands were on the rifle, ready to fire at anything moving about in the dark. However, knowing the danger of shooting if there was inflicted around, Lina decided, at least at this point to use the rifle as a melee weapon until she could find something to suppress the sound off the muzzle fire with. Coming up behind Yukimura, Lina would give her a weak nudge before turning her head slightly, still holding her gaze into the dark. “Quickly, don’t want to linger too long out here in the dark.”

Walking around inside of the mall was difficult in such thick darkness; it was like a permanent sheet of black silk. Yukimura wasn't fond of being caught inside of shadow's web and an appeal to her bokken was her last resort. Her hand grips the wooden sword and withdraws it from the strap binding it to her thigh.

By now her steps were steady; she seems confused by Lina's sudden intrusion since Yukimura had already accelerated her pace. At the work of yet another person, her brow twitches and in the darkness this wasn't particularly decipherable.

Her bokken is wrapped in a sheet of light and extends a length to suit even the tallest of men. It's held vertical and acts as a flashlight, embracing and purging the darkness around them in approximately thirty feet. Things in the distance were faintly illuminated.

“Oh really?” With a sinister look in her eyes she glares towards Lina. Her lips play in a eccentric smile. “You will want me to linger, if you intend on living.” Then she speeds up her pace, getting ahead of both her and Grey by at least ten to fifteen feet.

Mall of the DEAD Tsu_banner
? ? ?

Dismaying audio spilled from the structure’s entrance. The Dead's heads would crane, maintain their slants for long-since did they tire of combating the earth’s natural forces; at least, such is what one would expect. However, as Yukimura continued her dauntless strides, the light she protected would lap overtop a motionless cadaver. The partially concealed lake of lifeblood branched into fleeing channels ever-retreating from the creature which inadvertently birthed them. Someone or something had killed one of Them and Yukimura would be the first to catch sight of the being’s work. Doubtlessly would she recognize the method of dispatch. Gashes speckled its body.

What a wondrous night. The moon, while plump, had evidently shared the company of a thief. One third of it was missing. Regardless, its shed reached down from the glass ceiling, was ensnared by a beautiful curved portion of elegant metal. A Katana, its hilt gripped by a merciless hand. Its wielder’s body pressed itself against the moonlight, eyes catching a sliver of the luminance as he cast his gaze towards the light source below. The second floor is where he had taken temporary residence, parked at the top of the first set of escalators. What had caught his attention? The soundings of entrance, a light source enlightening him to what approached, Yukimura’s voice…

“Yuki?” The voice rang out. Stern, collected, though tinged ever-so-slightly with a well-founded surprise, no doubt would it draw her eyes towards him and the area encompassing; ripe with bodies of the dead.

Her smile never seems to falter. Even as she walks ahead and notes the existence of a festering corpse her lips did not lessen their broad length, whilst her eyes apparently closed back up. Within the eerie, silver light she had summoned from her weapon those eyes could easily peer ahead and sail over the escalator. Only after she'd seen the familiar gashes lacing this dead body would she loom her attention upon the figure embraced by lazy, lumbering moonlight.

The voice manages to reach out and grab her; her lips diminish their smile and become comparatively linear. Her brow heightens to demonstrate visually, her surprise.

“Tsukai?” With surprise she would breathe. Her heart strikes her chest like a battering ram; it quakes her bones, she hears it in her ears like thunder. She looks downwards, before her smile is resurrected.

She turns her attention towards those behind her. “Bye-bye~!” Bending over she would wave, and slowly the light from her sword would disappear, leaving the group within darkness.

Then she would appear where the moonlight had enveloped. Her feet had easily lead her up the inactive escalators. Her bokken then lights up whilst she is adjacent to the newcomer, but not the same length as before. It permitted a light source equivalent to a flashlight.

“I've sought you out for a while now.” She'd beam.

Infinitely feathered was the spherical radiance; though, swiftly did the night well around it, swallow it without mercy as the girl removed the bedding glow wrapped around the piece of weaponry she wielded. Vivid was the surprise saturating her words and too fleet did she utter half-hearted words of farewell before placing herself in front of him. Her words brought a subtle smile into being until his attention pooled atop the blood trickling from her finger thanks to the light now enveloping it. He would take the hand into his possession, his characteristic severity overtaking his visage once more. Gradually would the wound close, disappear, leaving only the past blood it spilled within its wake. Of course, the company Yukimura was found with did not slip his mind. A glance fell overtop Yukimura’s shoulder, placing them within his sights. He did not care to inquire as to who they were. Her hasted departure from this grouping spoke volumes. He returned his gaze to her.

“We need to get what we need from this place,” Tsukai began as he returned Yukimura’s hand to her. “Then find a safe place. It’ll all begin there.”

She watches with little to no prudence as his hand retired from is position and took her own. Prior with the other group she would have been on the edge of her senses but here, now she seemed nonchalant. A single eye opens up as she looks towards the regeneration of her finger. Surprise strikes her violet eye as the pain in her finger is swiftly alleviated.

Her head tilts to the side and her throat emits a soft humming noise of contemplation and curiosity. Though as her lips parted to speak she would be intervened by words that washed her over with an awakening to the severity of the situation they were in. Her smile weakens a little but remains intact.

“We are in Mikmaq Mall, so there is a lot we can get. I have no food since two days ago, so we could clear a path to the restaurants up the stairs.” Her smile seems to intensify. Her language then shifts to Japanese. “There'll be a lotta food, should last us a while – if we don't intend on sharin' it.”

Her conversation found intrusion, though subtle. Undoubtedly, she would continue to speak. A shift between English and Japanese followed. That accented manner of speech melted away and casual it had become. Though strange, Tsukai possessed no such thing speaking English. How could that be? Certainly, he understood Yukimura. He showed no signs of confusion. Following the conclusive words she spoke in Japanese, both familiar and terrorizing groans would fill the air. His umber pupils moved towards the sides of his eyes and slowly would a finger rise, press against his lips to quietly instruct her to be as silent as she could. Without warning, they began to rise, loose portions of hair furling beneath the disorder their upwards ascension would bestow. Six of Them launched for where they had been, lashing outwards from the shadows the mall had curtained them behind. What puzzlement they emitted for their means of tracking essentially vanished – for Tsukai and Yukimura, that is. They would linger at the top of the escalator leading to the second floor, thirsting for the audio of those not yet consumed.

Summary: 6 zombies at the top of the escalator to the second floor. Tsukai and Yukimura are floating to the third floor.

Still backing into the mall, Lina would close the doors behind her before lowering her rifle and turn towards the rest of the group which presumably where inside. Her eyes having accustomed themselves to the darkness outside quickly adjusted itself to the darkness of the inside as it weren’t disrupted by Yukimuras light as she had put it out before Lina had turned around. Looking around she noted the stores around her, noted which had their doors open and which did not and also noted to herself the ones that had the security fence down. Breathing slowly through her nose, she could hear the grunts of the inflicted in the darkness, trying to locate the sound was hard as it would echo off the walls, but the majority seemed to be very close. Grabbing the Greys shoulder, Lina would drag him so close that their bodies would touch and she would lean in and whisper as faintly as she could into his ear. “Don’t make a sound; some of the inflicted is close by. We need to get into a safe place before they locate us, there is a store two stores up on the right which have the security fence halfway down, if we can get there and pull it down before they reach us, we can wait till the morning.”
Her breath was quickening, as if trying to prepare her for the sprint and adrenaline that would follow. Her mind though, was in many places at the same time now, where the hell had Yukimura gone off to, where were the two others? And would they be able to pull the fence down in time? “Walk slowly and don’t make any sound, your life depends on it!” she would whisper to Grey before slowly letting go off him. Her hands would raise the rifle to her shoulder and aim about in the dark as she would begin to slowly walk towards the store she had located. What they would find on the inside she couldn’t tell, but luckily it wouldn’t be any of the living dead.

Who wouldn't have seen it coming; the ones who did not bat one glance towards Yukimura and her wound being abandoned and treated with general disdain. Her lips coil into a grin as she watches the blond ninja down there creep around with a rifle, contrary to the purpose of acting 'silent'. Her light did wonders to allow her to see the undead in proximity with the escalators. When she notices what they were, her smile didn't creep away.

That sinister look is replaced with curiosity as she looks around. Her lips lessen in size and purse when a finger hushes her. Upon levitating her brow would twitch and is marked by bald concern as she had not perceived this ability before. It would be hypocritical to say anything. She regains her usual expression.

Without saying a word she gestures towards the restaurants near the third floor with her silvery stick. A tunnel of light is produced and illuminates that area. There were many of restaurants there, popular ones that could easily satiate their hunger if they were famished. Yukimura looked a little pale and thin courtesy of her body having been beginning to eat at what little fat she had. She seemed to operate coherently despite her sickly, blood stained apparel.

"As you wish." Grey would say with a slight smile that could have gone unnoticed in the dark as he opened the door for both Yukimura and LT. ~At least she is acting a bit more normally...i think. Really hard to read, but sounds more normal.~ where his thoughts as he entered the Mall ~Although i got to do something about my image, before i become someone everyone hates.~ "Hey wait, Where did Thunder go? Did he actually leave?!" he would ask as he looked around for the guy. "Is that dude going to be ok, he was ill just a few minutes ago." Casting one last glance out in the direction he last saw Thunder he would say "Well, good luck, Safe journey, and hopefully we will meet again."

As he moved into the room he saw Yukimura start to do her light trick and immediately closed one of his eyes to prevent becoming entirely night-blind, if the light had to be shut off quickly to not attract Them, then his one eye would adjust faster then the eye that was use to the light she gave off. As she moved ahead of them although he would quickly try to move up and keep pace and keeping a look out for the first aid station. However he would stop dead as he spotted the 'fresh' corpse on the ground and would look around to see if there was more of them or if the person who destroyed it was still around. Then his head would snap up and over, to the direction of the escalators as a voice called out, but instead of a general welcome or something like that the voice called out his companion's name. there stood a young man surrounded by corpses and wielding a blood drenched katana in the moon light. Yukimura apparently recognized him and, although her voice registered her shock called him by name, Tsukai.
Thinking hopefully, ~Great, We got someone else who can help all of us...~ "Wait, What?!" Grey would then ask as Yukimura said 'goodbye' and run over to the guy, cutting off the light as she went. Swiftly opening his other eye he would rapidly blink the temporarily blind one to help adjust to the darkness. "Wait a minute?"

Not quite close enough to hear what the two of them were saying Grey would start to move closer, past a janitorial push cart only to stop again when he heard the familiar groans of the undead approaching. Half expecting the two of them to return down the escalator steps Grey's jaw would momentarily drop as they instead quietly began to float into the air. "Levitation well that's useful." he would quietly mutter to himself as six of Them appeared at the top of the steps visible in the moonlight, stupidly attempting to locate the two who floated safely up above them.

Then he felt ha hand grab his shoulder as Lina dragged him close to whisper in his ear telling him to remain silent, move quietly and then to lock themselves into one of the stores until morning. "Wait, No way! They aren't nocturnal they will still be there in the morning and they could have friends! There are only Six of Them, we take them out Now." Grey would reply back as he glanced at the janitorial cart and quietly pull out the broom and unscrew it from the pole from the bristles. "No gunshots, that will just bring more of them, take either something from the cart here, or bash them in the head with your rifle. We take them on the escalator, we don't give them time to come down, that will just give them a chance to surround us." by the time he had finished speaking the broom was now detached from the handle leaving what would be a length of wood useful to be a staff and regardless of Lina's decision would begin to swiftly and silently move up the top of the escalator. Taking a deep breath he would slowly release it as he brought the staff down on the first zombie's skull attempting to smash its rotting skull or snap its neck with the first strike.

His makeshift staff collided with its head and successfully brought it to the floor. What action would this valiant youth take next? Of course they noticed this intervention. Wood versus bone rang true, but immediate would their reaction not be. Their heads craned to seized the newcomer in their sightless gazes and the next would lunge forward. True, only one could attack this boy at a time, but that fact hardly stopped the majority of them from following within the leading attacker’s wake.

- - -
They drifted horizontally now before landing softly. His attention lingered upon the floor for a moment before rising to meet his new surroundings. This was the food court. All appeared to be running smoothly if, of course, there was an operational power source and everybody had not retreated from the store with the intent of preserving their lives. This had not happened during hours of closure, but even so…

Tsukai leaned close, speaking quietly into Yukimura’s ear. “The power’s out, so the food’s probably defrosted, gone bad. Though, I know from personal experience…” He stalled momentarily as his mind was overcome by unpleasant memories. “That Wendy’s has non-perishable food items…but then again, so does a grocery store…” He paused. “I’ll go in, anyway.” With that, he hopped over the counter within a seemingly weightless freefall.

Summary: 1 zombie was taken care of by Grey's broom attack. 3 are rushing towards him on the escalator.

She scans the area upon landing on the ground. With her beneficial silvery lighting she could easily attempt to see anything within a visual range of thirty feet. By now, Yukimura had sobered from the previous inconveniences that fogged her mind. She holds the bokken with the likileness of a torch while tucking the wakazashi into a sheath hooked to a buckle around her waist. Japanese heritage easily made it possible for her to have these things in her arsenal.

Her smile is an allayer. “Just fast food joints? How boring. At least there's a Chinese place over there; food's probably gone bad, eh.” Her voice is gentle as to not pry at the ears of observant parties. She climbs over the counter with exceptional dexterity – no sound appears to be aroused that was not thin and subtle.

“Oh well. Could you lend me Dad's katana? This here isn't gonna cut it.” Whilst a pun laced her words she made no effort to emphasize its existence; she was referring to the wakazashi. “Kinda nostalgic, even though Dad never let me use it yet. People back there used things prohibited in Japan; not very interestin'. I wonder how long guns and makeshift weapons will last them.” She would relaxedly preach while sauntering.

Tsukai’s attention skittered about the miniscule restaurant’s back area. He appeared preoccupied, but still did his attention seize the hushed words she spoke, A cautious eye, of course, was drawn about, but seemingly lacking was this floor in anymore of Them. “If they get their ingredients from here, can’t be much better than anything else up here,” he replied in response to the comment about the Chinese food.

He turned partially before presenting the weapon to her. “Yeah. You’re better at it than me, anyway,” he said, peering around a corner. Nothing of note fell into view, so he proceeded. He sank into a squat as he noted a few boxes and nearby shelves. “This is Chili Base and the smaller cans are kidney beans. With these, I could make a vegetarian chilli. There’d be no meat and even if it hadn’t gone bad, it would only last for so long."

Her hands grip the katana and hold it horizontally. Its attire consisted of a magnificent sheath with the pattern of an elegant bouquet of irises, a ribbon of flowers. She partially pulls the blade out and inspects its glistening, metal body. Etched into the flat side of the blade would be a design that mirrored a scorpion of sorts. "9260 silicon alloy carbon spring steel. Heh, I'm not gonna let it go to waste. Good ol'Ayame." Yukimura locks this to her side as well before resuming her pursuit.

Verily had she smiled when she heard that making food was plausible. “Yer right with that. I was gonna ask if the meat was still frozen but by now it's probably a piss-poor excuse for an existence. Guess it won't be the most interestin' of meals, but it'll suffice.”

She shrugs widely. “Later I wanna go down in Zellers and pick up some new clothes. Could grab a cloth or two and use the water from Wendy's sink even though it's not gonna be like a shower or soakin' inna bath. 'Cause I dunno about you, but I wanna wash myself and wear clean clothes. Blood, dirt, and sweat don't mix good.” She grins and her eccentric mood would only satiate how wicked, though calm, it always looked. “I wanna remain moral while I'm still alive, ya know.”

“Somewhat. Living essentials; ah... what a bother.”

Grey could see three of Them start to move towards him as soon as the first one he destroyed fell to the ground. seeing as how they could only attack one at a time, Grey would use his new staff to sweep the legs out from under the leading zombie and take a step forward spinning the staff to smash the next one with a focused strike to the temple and then reversing the strike to finish it off. stepping back again Grey would watch as the third zombie stumble over the corpse of the one he would use his staff to help fling the creature's frail body up and over the railing to fall onto the cold hard marble below, that would either break its skull and limbs or allow the other two to finish it off, before slamming the staff's end through the eye socket of the zombie he had knocked down that had been attempting to crawl at him. Once again refocusing himself Grey would wait for the last two to attack.

Standing back up, she would quickly get back to the door and open it with her shoulder, leaving her bags within the store and behind the now closing door. Moving towards Grey and the escalators, she would appear on Grey’s left side. “If this get the whole damn brigade here, I’m out!” she noted before she spun her rifle around, using the stock to hit the first oncoming zombie in the upper chest, sending it flying in the air before it would crash down into the floor, moving quickly, Lina would raise her rifle once more and slam it into its chest again, this time penetrating it, making the zombie growl and squeal before eventually going limp. The smell of rotten flesh and intestine began to reek from the opened body below her and upon removing the rifle, she knew that the stock would be covered in rotten slime and whatnot that was inside a dead body. By the time Lina was done, Grey would hopefully be done as well, leaving them to be safer for the moment to find shelter or relocate Yukimura before something else would appear.

Only one at a time. The naivety sousing such believes were near pungent enough to draw the attention of Them from around the globe for doubtlessly an easy meal. The one to take the lead, the first one, had indeed fallen by Grey’s initial strike. At this time, Lina would be running to meet Grey before proceeding to enter into a brief duration of conversation. Unfortunately, since the escalator was apparently too narrow for any more than one zombie to attack at any given moment, Line would only be able to stand behind Grey and certainly not to his side. Grey was in the way and had just attempted to sweep a zombie off of its feet, but was not the escalator narrow? How could someone performing a sweeping action in such a narrow space? Undoubtedly, what could be performed would do nothing to move a leg bearing the full weight of the grown adult corpse. Not a lot of brainpower was required to assume that whatever sensation presented itself on the side of its leg would hardly stall him reaching forward as Grey realized his assault had failed. Would he try correcting his mistake and drawing the broom handle upwards? If so, it would have to be pulled backwards to push forward. All his target had to do was continue his unhindered running grab forward and it would.

Would surprise overtake Lina or would her apparent military training take over? Regardless, she would be taking on a trio of the undead running in a line to overtake her and slam her against the stairs of the escalator. Her rifle, which was not a spear nor was it wielded by a Spartan, would do little to push them back for it was the weight of three of Them she would be contending with. How were they getting to her? Well, they would be running over Grey, of course.

Elsewhere…

Tsukai was carrying a few large boxes. Obviously, this would be an impossible feat just by looking at what a balancing act it would be. He had walked into Zellers along with Yukimura to tend to her wishes. He had no problem with any of them. It was a fine opportunity to do so, after all. There appeared to be a lack of Them for now, so they could do as they pleased. The soundings of combat they would likely have heard were shunned, leaving little reason for them to continue forward for some nice shopping. =)

“Ah... There we go.” She steps into the clothing aisle of Zellers and looks around. It was a women's clothing aisle, of course. The racks and shelves are painted with a variety of different things. “Sometimes anarchy can be fun. Ya know...” Her hand clenches some general pants from the rack before her. “We woulda had an electrokinesis user, a possible power generator, if it weren't for them people back there.” With a sigh she shrugs her shoulders. “Oh well. Hehe.”

Yukimura hangs the pants over her shoulder before strafing her attention to the next rack. Her footwear clops bluntly over the black canvas of the clothing aisle's floor. Her hand snatches a spaghetti strap shirt before she wanders and takes a winter jacket and some gloves. Lastly she would acquire a Russian hat of sorts. A lot of these looked like articles of clothing one would take skiing, but in winter it was believable.

She wouldn't change yet, she had to find the washroom so she could access the sink. On their way she would pick up a bucket and a facecloth. “Oh Tsu, would you happen to know what a 'Primera' is?”

Somewhat taxing was the weight that descended overtop his eyes at the mention of an electrokinesis user. Strange for not but half a year ago, not even he would have thought he would be having such a conversation. Now, however, he knew that meant one of two things. He continued to watch her in silence until she plucked articles of clothing from the racks and moved to another portion of the store. An inquiry perked his interest and such was rather visible. “Primera? Who’d you hear that word from? Tsukai questioned, too surprised to adhere to her query just yet.

The door to the washroom was just up ahead. She made no attempt to get there quickly since she seemed to want to discuss this matter about the Primera. Her smile ceases to waver. “The electrokinesis guy named Thunder. Kinda creepy; referred to us as 'humans', which is a little uncharacteristic of a human, don't ya think?” She shrugs her shoulder to keep all of the clothing perched on it stably. “Interesting guy, nevertheless. I can see why he ditched those boring people. Had this little habit of not opening doors. When Grey exited the car he climbed over the seat and went out Grey's side. Did his side of the car have shit on the door handle or something?” Rather than actually making anything coherent out of this she seemingly found interest in the presumably habitual actions.

Her words were deciphered critically. The humour accompanying them were seemingly lost upon him, but such was hardly characteristic. The conclusion of her words were marked by the beginnings of his own. “Primera aren’t human,” Tsukai began with earnest severity. “They’re dogs and wolves alike given sentience. Essentially, they're victims of Them, but their symptoms are nothing like ours when we’re bitten. They gain power. I know this because I met one. What they pass on through their own bite is the same kind of power.” He paused, contemplating how she came upon her abilities inwardly.
