Rules for Roleplay

Powergaming ~ Please do not. To elaborate, powergaming is generally the presumption or declaration that one's own action against another member is successful without giving the other member the freedom to act on his own prerogative. This can usually be referred to as an autohit, though typically it is when one displays a level of expertise they are not capable of and often, is not possible at all for anything to reasonably perform. It can take the form as something dubbed ‘time bending.’ This is where a member executes actions in a span of time that would not permit such an action to occur, or when the player essentially travels "back in time" and adjusts an action to benefit the scenario. This falls in the realm of adjusting or redefining already established actions. If one throws a punch, its evasion should not prompt you to adjust its trajectory midway to assure a hit. That conflicts with common sense and is essentially changing what you did in the past. In short, do not adjust actions that have already been established unless you have proper reason to do so. If a player does something that would, indeed, have your character act in a different way than in your previous post, then do so. Also, do not stop time to fit in a slew of actions to counter one of your opponent's. Feel free to ask a moderator for clarification.

Metagaming ~ This is described as the use of OOC (out of character) information and is against the rules. As a reader on the site, there are things that you will know. However, there are things your character will not know. If something you do with your character involves the use of OOC information, it will be held against you.

Open and closed threads ~ Threads may be marked as ‘open’ or ‘closed.’ Open threads allow for anybody to enter while closed threads, or ones calling for specific members, do not allow for those unspecified to enter. It is assumed that when a thread is closed off to all but a select few, the circumstances place all unable to enter elsewhere for whatever IC (in character) reason. As the thread starter, they may invite who they wish at any time, story permitting.

Stalling ~ Please do not stall a thread you are in. If the thread contains combat, one may contact a moderator if 48 hours have passed for a ruling.

Post length ~ This is not something we typically worry about. We would like to see a minimum of 50 words and if you wish to write a thread by yourself, you are permitted to split up your story into multiple posts. However, each post must consist of at least 250 words when doing this.

Battle System ~
Even though we have one, some situations will not always allow you to do what it describes possible. For example, if trapped in a narrow hallway, despite available Psyche / Endurance, evasion of something that fills the hallway is not sensible. Our systems are always a w.i.p, undergoing change for its betterment on a regular basis.

General Rules

Debate ~ Discussion and debate are fine; however, rudeness, contemptuous posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts will not be tolerated. Our decision is final in these matters. Any disputes with anybody should be handled in private through the Private Message system.

Offensive posts ~ We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Also, while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules. Typically, warnings will be issued, but such will not always be the case. It depends on the scenario.

Mature content ~ Please do not post illicit pictures / media. If the content of your posts are explicit input a 'mature' rating in the thread / post title.
